M4 Property Consultants are delighted to confirm the recent letting of a retail unit in Newport at the Kingsway Shopping Centre.
In an unusual step, three generations of the Vowles family have teamed up to open a new shop on Emlyn Walk, Newport on the edge of the Kingsway Shopping Centre. The family have pooled their stitchcraft knowledge and expertise to open Nimble Fingers.
The new shop opened only a fortnight ago and is situated on the busy walkway at the entrance to the Kingsway Shopping Centre. The shop sells a wide range of wool and knitting accessories, patterns, cross stitch kits, DMC kits and haberdashery supplies to stitchcraft enthusiasts of all abilities.
Shop manager Jayne Vowles has been passionate about stitchcraft from an early age. Having learned the basics from her mother and Nimble Fingers business owner Joan Vowles , Jayne realised there was a niche in the market for such a shop. Explaining her decision, Jayne said, “There are lots of people of all ages who enjoy stitchcraft. Our new shop is centrally located providing easy access and we have deliberately chosen stock and product lines that will provide a wide choice for all.”
Nimble Fingers also sells art supplies and stationery to provide for students. Jayne’s daughter Bronwyn who also works in the shop is a student studying graphic design.
Acting on behalf of UBS the owners of the units, Dan Smith, director of M4 Property Consultants arranged the letting. He said, “It what continues to be a difficult retail market in Newport we are delighted to confirm this letting resulting in all available units on Emlyn Walk being fully occupied. Like with previous lettings, we were able to offer Nimble Fingers an attractive package and flexible terms. They were quick to spot the opportunity of locating in an improving location and reacted quickly to secure the shop. We think it’s great the family have got together to set up this venture. We’re delighted to welcome them as the latest tenant to the scheme and wish them the best of luck in developing the business.”
